KIMBERLY PATERSON

Registered Massage Therapist

Kimberly began her career as a Rehabilitation Specialist and as an aerobics instructor. She completed her Registered Massage Therapy Degree in 2004, her Pregnancy Massage diploma in 2004, her Reflexology and Reiki diploma in 2005, and her Doctorate of Acupuncture in 2007.

Kimberly incorporates a wide variety of modalities within her treatments to obtain the most effective results.

With 11 years of clinical experience completed, she believes that aggressive treatments along with client education will further her client’s ability to heal and return to full function. Kimberly focuses her practice around sport specific and work-related injuries, as well as pregnancy and infant/child care. She encourages all clients to become actively involved in obtaining optimal health and wellness through regular treatments, proper diet and exercise.

DAYTONA GILROY-BRIAND

Registered Massage Therapist & Certified Athletic Therapist

Daytona Gilroy-Briand is a Certified Athletic Therapist, Registered Massage Therapist and acupuncture provider working at Total Health Link and Progressive Sports Medicine. Graduating from Concordia University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science specializing in Athletic Therapy, Daytona then attended the Ontario College of Health and Technology to obtain her diploma in Massage Therapy. Daytona has also completed her Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Science through McMaster University’s School of Health Sciences where she focused her research on intervention strategies to minimize recurrent hamstring injuries in athletic populations. In addition, she has completed her diploma in acupuncture and dry needling.

Daytona has experience working with a variety of patient populations. Daytona has worked in USport in the RSEQ, OUA, and the CCAA. She most recently held the title of Head Athletic Therapist at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. She continues to work as well with general populations in a private clinic setting to help encourage health and wellness to all.

Daytona’s passion for sport and wellness extends into her daily life, where she plays soccer, goes to the gym, and does yoga. Her motivation to encourage safe and rapid return to sport and day-to-day function for all of her athletes and patients as well as her passion for encouraging an active lifestyle makes her thoroughly enjoy her daily work as a Certified Athletic Therapist/Registered Massage Therapist.

DR. AMBER PURINS

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Amber Purins completed her undergraduate education at McMaster University where she graduated with an Honours Degree in Kinesiology. While at McMaster, Amber competed as Captain of the Women’s Varsity Rugby team. Dr. Purins went on to complete her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and with Clinic Honours.

Dr. Purins enjoys practicing within multi-disciplinary and is a strong advocate for inter-professional collaboration. Dr. Purins has pursued training in several different treatment approaches as an adjunct to her chiropractic training. She is full-body certified in Active Release Technique (ART®) and has been trained in Graston soft tissue therapy, Activator, Thompson and Webster adjustment techniques. Dr. Purins treats a variety of conditions and injuries throughout the entire musculoskeletal system. She bases her practice on a patient-centered, evidence-based approach utilizing the most up to date research, treatment options, and patient education to provide the most comprehensive care possible. As an athlete herself, Amber enjoys treating athletes at all levels of the athletic spectrum from leisure to recreational through to elite competitive athletes. Dr. Purins also has a keen interest in women’s health, pregnancy-related care, post-partum return to activity, and post-natal development.

Dr. Ed Fillion

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Ed Fillion graduated from the University of Alberta in 1990 with a four year B.Sc. degree, specializing in microbiology and human physiology. His post-graduate degree was completed at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and in 1994, he was granted his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Since his graduation, Dr. Fillion has completed numerous seminars covering clinical diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques, clinical and sports nutrition, and pediatric chiropractic techniques. Dr. Fillion has a keen interest in the analysis and treatment of feet and has completed numerous courses and seminars covering orthotics and the diagnosis and rehabilitation of foot injuries.

Dr. Fillion’s holistic approach to treatment, combines a wide variety of chiropractic adjusting techniques with nutrition, stretching, massage, physiotherapy, custom foot orthotics, extremity adjustments, and active rehabilitation exercise programs to provide an individualized and customized program which assures that his patients reach their goals quickly and safely.

Dr. Fillion is a certified BackSafe Consultant. He conducts fully customized, hands-on employee training and ergonomic assessments designed to reduce WSIB costs while teaching the employee preventative strategies to reduce the incidence and severity of both workplace and home injuries. His client list includes GK Work Wear, The City of North York Public Works and Air Canada’s Flight Attendant Division.

Thomas Blaszczyk

Registered Physiotherapist

Thomas is a registered physiotherapist who completed his Master’s Physiotherapy Degree in Krakow, Poland in 2003.

Shortly after, Thomas started his physiotherapy career in the United Kingdom. There, he was quickly exposed to and gained ample knowledge in numerous orthopedic conditions at the Canterbury General Hospital in the inpatient orthopedics department.

In 2007, Thomas also acquired his Canadian physiotherapy license and has since been practicing & providing rehabilitative services in the private sector.

Thomas is passionate about living a healthy lifestyle which includes physical activity, nutrition, as well as a spiritual and mental aspect. In his free time, Thomas enjoys swimming, hiking and reading.

Joya Sohani

Registered Physiotherapist, Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist & Vestibular Physiotherapist

Joya is a passionate Registered Physiotherapist with a degree from NTR University (India). She attained a post-graduate diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from London, Ontario.

Thereafter her focus is on Neuromusculoskeletal injuries in wide varieties of the population including post-surgical, geriatrics, neurological disorders and sports-related injuries.

Joya believes in developing an open and honest relationship with the client, guiding them through their challenges and motivating them to accomplish their goals. Her perception is to strengthen the client to self- manage their problem and live a healthy lifestyle. She feels that learning is a continuous process. Therefore continuously participates in professional development courses, webinars and reading evidence based journals.

Outside of her work, she enjoys hiking, walking, shopping, reading books and socializing with friends. She also supports and guides her friends on their journey of becoming a Registered Physiotherapist.

Marion Hay

Registered Massage Therapist

Marion found her passion to help others while in high school during her co-op program working here at Total Health Link. She graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Mohawk College in 2020 and returned to THL as a registered massage therapist. Through the program she learned how to provide professional and quality massage treatments within the scope of practice for a large demographic. Through her own clinical experience, she gained the confidence in her technique to treat common areas of complaint and injuries with success. Marion has often had complicated cases that required care, diligence, and intuition. All bodies are different and she knows how to alter her treatments to cater to everyone’s unique needs.

Marion has always been active playing sports, dancing, and camping. She started weight lifting in her teens and later started hot yoga, which has become her number one way of exercising. Hot yoga, light weight training, and massage are the things that Marion feels keeps her in good health. Marion understands the importance of personal strength and health in order to be consistent in her treatments for others.

A client can go into Marion’s treatment room and expect to have a warm, clean, and comfortable table to relax on. Client’s can also set expectations for their treatment and know that their requests will be met with positivity and understanding. Marion is experienced with deep tissue treatments for the people who believe in no pain no gain, and also knows how to provide a nice relaxation treatment for those who just need a moment to pause and reset.

Communication is one of the most important parts of any treatment. Marion will give her client multiple opportunities to share how they feel throughout the treatment and if they need anything altered for it to be more beneficial.

Sara Schellenberger

Registered Massage Therapist

Sara has a deep passion for anatomy and the human body. She brings a balance of clinical knowledge and hands-on care to every treatment, with the goal of helping clients move, recover, and feel their best. As a competitive powerlifter, Sara understands firsthand the demands we place on our bodies and the importance of proper recovery and mobility. Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, improved performance, or simply a space to unwind, Sara's goal is to support your health and wellness journey.

Melanie Fillion

Registered Massage Therapist & Fascial Stretch Therapist

Melanie graduated with honors from the advanced Massage Therapy Program at Mohawk College. She has always had a passion for learning about the human body and continued her studies to create an integrated practice of deep tissue massage, fascial stretch therapy and cupping.

Since getting her certificate, Melanie has had experience assisting clients establish a pain free way of life. She has experience working with a broad range of clientele, from those diagnosed with various health conditions, treating athletes, helping the elderly, and including MVA and WSIB patients.

Her practice is founded on client centered care, where she works with each individual to assist them in succeeding to attain their health goals.

Melanie has always had a passion for physical fitness and enjoys weightlifting, boxing, yoga, and snowboarding in the winter. Outside of her clinical practice she has a love for the outdoors and meditation. She is an avid hiker and goes camping whenever possible.

Michael Cook

Melanie Pereira

Registered Nurse/Certified Injector

As a professional nurse specializing in therapeutic injections, Melanie Pereira is a certified injector committed to promoting wellness through precision and care. Her extensive training ensures that each injection is administered safely and effectively, tailored to meet the unique needs of her patients. By focusing on therapeutic injections, she aims to alleviate pain, manage chronic conditions, and enhance overall health, contributing to a better quality of life. Beyond the procedure, she provides comprehensive support and education, empowering patients to take an active role in their health journey.

Munira Norrani

Registered Nurse Practitioner

Munira Noorani is a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). She brings a wealth of experience to her new role at Total Health Link, where she provides a range of primary care and regenerative therapy services. Nurse Practitioner Munira provides cortisone joint injection therapy, regenerative therapy services (Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy), and completion of medical notes, forms & letters.

Munira earned her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) from D’Youville University in Buffalo, NY. Prior to this, she spent over a decade as a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse, and currently provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages — from newborns to the elderly — in Stoney Creek. She has also sought out additional training in Joint injection therapy which has allowed her to provide pain relieving solutions to your aches and pain. Her approach focuses on holistic, high-quality care tailored to each individual.
